Fence Em In — Player Aid

Your turn

The first player rolls 3 dice once per round. Everyone uses the same dice, in player order.

  1. Roll (first player only). On the choice side: take 1 fertilizer and re-roll, or set the die to 1–5.
  2. Pick dice. One die is the enclosure Width, one is the Height. The third die picks your asset token.
  3. Build the enclosure (Width × Height cells). It must fit on the board, not overlap, and touch one of your enclosures along an edge (not a corner). The first one must cover your starting cell.
  4. Take an asset token from the assets board matching the third die. Put its miniature in your new enclosure.
  5. Score the placement points (see table).
  6. Place the token on your farm board (see table). No fit: discard it.

No legal placement with a matching token for any dice combination: pass and skip your turn.

End of round: refill the assets board (unpicked tokens stay). Fewest points goes first next round; ties roll a die, lowest first.

Placement points (miniature in enclosure)

Asset 1st, 2nd, 3rd… of the type Fertilizer
Cow 3, 3, 4, 5, 7 0
Sheep 1, 2, 3 then 3 1 per pair (2nd, 4th… sheep)
Chicken 1, 1, 2, 2, 3 then 3 2
Grain 2 each 0
Corn 2, 2, 2, 3 then 3 1
Hay 1 each. +1 with 1 animal in your farm, +2 with 2, +3 with 3 or more 1 per pair (2nd, 4th… hay)
Barn 2 each. First barn: +1 fertilizer for every cow, sheep or chicken you place after it 2
Granary 1 each. First granary: +1 point for every grain you place after it 1

After the last number, every further miniature of that type scores the number after then (the cow keeps scoring 7). Fertilizer is the number of tokens you take.

Fertilizer

Spend during your own turn.

Cost Effect
1 Remove 2 tokens from the assets board, draw 2 new. The removed tokens go back in the bag.
2 Re-roll one or two dice.
3 +1/−1 on one die (1–5), only for you.
4 Place one die on any side you want (1–5).
5 +1/−1 on two dice (1–5), only for you.

Farm board (place the token in one category)

Category 1 2 3 4
All of the same type 1 3 6 8
None of the same type 1 2 4 7
Alternating animal and crop 1 3 5 7
The leftovers 1 2 3 4

Fill slots left to right. At the end of the game each category scores once: only its furthest filled slot counts.

  • All of the same type: every token is the same type.
  • None of the same type: no two tokens match.
  • Alternating: animals (cow, sheep, chicken) and crops (corn, grain, hay) take turns. Start with either.
  • The leftovers: any token. Full and no other fit: discard the token.
  • Barn and Granary tokens only go in their own first slot or in the leftovers.

End of game scoring

After 10 rounds, add up your total:

  1. Farm board: each of the six categories scores once, the points of its furthest filled slot.
  2. Mission cards: score all three cards (1 Enclosure, 2 Support). They apply to every player.
  3. Fertilizer: 1 point per 3 unused fertilizer tokens.

Winner: most total points. Tie: most farm board points. Still tied: shared victory.
